DeathByCaptcha Updates & Fix

Some of you may have problems with using deathbycaptcha recently. This issue can be solved the following way.
[ol][li]download this file :l:solvers/dbcclient.exe: and put it in your program files webDOM\captchas\solvers folder.[/li][li]Open webDOM[/li][li]Click "Automation" from the top menu[/li][li]Click "CAPTCHA options" from the drop down menu[/li][li]Click the "current solver" drop down box and select "Shell - DeathByCaptcha"[/li][li]Now try to solve a captcha as normal[/li][/ol]What happened is that they have updated some of the standards of their API and their shell system. Currently we are working on getting the HTTP version of DeathByCaptcha working again, so sit tight for updates if you insist on using that. For now, you can at least still use your dbc account with webDOM.

DeCaptcher has changed locations

In the beginning of this year, DeCaptcher has changed their servers. You might notice that CAPTCHA solvng has stopped working in webDOMinator. To get CAPTCHA solving working again, follow the following instructions.
[ol][li]Click "Automation" from the top menu[/li][li]Click "Captcha Options" in the drop down menu[/li][li]In the Captcha Solver options window, click the "Solver" button drop-down in the toolbar and then click "Alternative Solvers Manger"[/li][li]In the window that comes up, there is a field that says "Post URL" paste this: http://poster.de-captcher.com/[/li][li]Click the "Save" button in the Alternative captcha solvers manager[/li][/ol]
This should work when trying to solve CAPTCHA again. Since you saved, you should only need to do the above once. If you are not using the Alternative solver option and you see "api.deCaptcher.com" in your Captcha Solver Options window as the current solver, you shouldn't have to do anything, we've switched the location from our server.

webDOM 3.0.1 - Newest Update

As most of you might have already noticed, there's been a couple of new functionalities and lots of program error fixes in the new version 3.0.1.

Among the most notable updates are:
[ul][li]Faster Gathering: You have been asking for it since almost a month after webDOM 3 came out earlier this year. Nothing has changed on the gather interface, but the gathering for large lists (50,000 entries and more) has improved dramatically. We are now using a high level indexing system for the lists so that adding to lists is still unique, but takes a small fraction of the time to check the list. In other words, you should be able to gather 100 items to a list with a million unique items already in it within a second. The only draw back to this insanely fast gathering method is that it takes longer to load lists. This means that if you're using a large list and quit scripts, it might mess with your time tables. On a Toshiba L505, it takes about 45 seconds to load a half a million entry list, but it takes a fraction of a second to gather 200 items to it *wink wink*.[/li][li]The List Progress Bar: This new feature shows the actual countdown the wait counter performs before moving on to the next action during automation. You can watch it count down the seconds until the next action takes place. This is great for debugging anything that might be getting stuck during automation. The other thing this progress bar serves for is to show progress of loading large lists since this now takes a bit longer.[/li][li]Automatic List Backup: Since we've added the new list system, we've been working on making it perfect and getting out all the small kinks. Some of you may have lost lists in the past. With this new update we're leaving that problem in the past. Backups will be performed on each list that's loaded. It even stores one extra backup of the backup of your list every once and awhile. The backup system will never save a backup that's smaller than the previous list size. There is also a new "Restore from backup" feature in the List menu inside the List manager. This will restore your list from the latest backup so that if anything should occur and your list does not show up, you can get your data back easily.[/li][li]List protection: Yes, we are doing a lot with lists, but remember that we want to make it perfect. The list protection system is now in place so that if you try to close webDOM while a list is currently saving itself, you will no longer cut off that process. We have realized over the course of this year that this is what's going on in a majority of the cases, so we've made it so that webDOM waits to close until a list is done being saved to or loaded before it closes all the way. Note: this does not affect using the "right-click" close item on the task tray icon. This will always be a non-save shortcut to closing.[/li][li]Version updating: We have built a new way for the program to check versions so you will no longer have update issues with webDOM itself. We are working on a way to make version checking work on plugins the same way to avoid the same issue with automatic updates for plugins.[/li][li]Save Lists After Every Action Fix: Sometimes the lists were not saving after every action properly, this is now fixed. Also, it's possible now (in script) to change the number of actions that go by between saves. This can help for larger lists, see :l:/r:5697#this_page: [/li][li]New Commands / Variables / Properties: See the :l:scripting-reference.php#scripting_reference: for Most recently added commands[/li][li]CAPTCHA System Update[ul][li]Easier Solver switching is now in place in the CAPTCHA Solver Options window[/li][li]DeCaptcher HTTP solver settings are hard-coded now to use the updated http url in any case[/li][/ul][/li][li]Gathered Items Tracking: webDOM now tracks how many items it has gathered in total and to each list during the current webDOM instance. There is a visualization of it in the Stats menu in the main Browser Window. A new list property was also added to be able to access this per-list in scripts.[/li][/ul]
Overall, it's been a lot of work, a lot of tweaking, and a lot of testing. We thank everyone who's helped us get that much closer to perfection with webDOM and we encourage everyone to give their opinion or tell us when something could be working better in the site's shout box, or in Comments which any webDOM user can add on any page. We are now working on a post-use survey system much like Skypes. This will make it easier for you to lend us a hand and let us know when a plugin stops working or when something went wrong.

A new public update has been released to day with one more last-minute fix to the list protection system that is recommended to download the newest version of webDOM. If your updater is not working properly, you may need to update manually. Instructions :l:help.php?id=62#here: for manual update of webDOM.

New update coming soon & Forum news

The most recent changes (available in next public update) to webDOM include

Added new ability to set list.handle.current so that things like the updated SoundCloud plugin has a working "Mutualize" script

In the Stats display - the Stop At number is now shown if set in the list manager and the Estimated time to completion and percentage bar are based off of the Stop point

It is now possible to load a list from any folder on your computer, and it is also possible to load a .txt or .csv file as a list if it's one item per line

Ability to run a random action each time automation advances

Fixes to the CAPTCHA Alternative solver retry system

Fixes to the Auto-Stop on autogathering for stopping on a certain number of items gathered

Additional test option and information on the Message Editor that shows characters and number of possibilities for dynamic phrases

In addition to that, we've been working hard to remove any false postives from popular Anti-Virus systems by contacting these AV companies and getting them to whitelist us. So far that's been going well and it's been a great relief that AV companies are much more prone now to admit when their system guesses wrong.

Some of you may have also noticed that for tha last month, you have not been able to post to the Forum on webdombot.com. This is because there was a rising amount of spam that was getting past the spam filter and people had started to post links to illegal pornography on the forum. These were all removed, but as a result, the forum had been shut down simply due to the fact that we are revising the system so that only registered webDOM users can register a forum account. This should minimize the amount of spam that has to be moderated daily... hopefully completely obliterate it so that we can focus on what's important and not policing a Forum. More news on the Forum will come shortly.

All in all, we are starting the march toward webDOM 4 and beta testers will start to see some new features that need testing, in addition to continuing the bug hunt. Anyone who needs help with any plugins or the program update, please :l:contact.php#let_us_know:

Into the Features of webDOM 3

You might have noticed we've been a little quiet lately. This is because we're busy working hard in the workshop so we can get you your new version of webDOM by December 25th.

Over the next couple of updates, we're going to be taking a look into some of the new features of webDOM 3.0 that can now be revealed with a little more clarity.

The lists system updates

The list system is getting a major overhaul at the moment. We are breaking the previous boundaries of the well known webDOM list system.

There are now multiple lists that a plugin loads with, pre-saved with the plugin settings

Each list will be able to have it's own gather settings so that multiple types of data can be gathered at a time

The list system will now be much faster when gathering

A new blacklist system that allows any list to be set up as blacklist for another list

A brand new interface to make it easy to work with lists

Tables

Tables have been a long desired feature in webDOM. We've gone table crazy and created a way to finally make 2d datasets that can even be queried! This part of the system is in beta testing at the moment and should be ready by the christmas release.

More to come

Beyond all that fun data gathering stuff, there really are quite a bit of new groundbreaking features that have been being added which will change the way we all use webDOM next year:

Newer Help system features will allow better troubleshooting for more topics

Quite a bit of new features are being worked on which will help the user experience become easier and more powerful

More community features are built into the system to bring peer interaction to a new level

Two words, webDOM Connect

Overall, we've been cooking up some great gifts and we're glad to announce the price for webDOM will stay the same even with all of these new tools and functionality! Here's hoping you a great holidays.

To be Continued.... Happy DOMinating!

The road to 3.0 and some new important changes

Most of you have already gotten the email I sent out to all webDOM clients about the anti-virus false positives that have been affecting webDOMinator, not only during installation, but in reputation. Clean-MX is one of the websites mainly responsible for having me kicked off of my previous server. I am happy to say that we are now on a new server that will actually stand up for us and will not kick us off. I'm also happy to say that I've finally gotten rid of most all false-positives in the programs set. I had to get rid of wdbrowse.exe and instead the registration, the help system, and the notes system will open up in your default browser.

Important Changes

PLEASE NOTE: in order to clean up the math/concatenation system in the Minion scripting engine, I had to change the basic form of performing math in minion. Before it was possible to perform the following.
var:i=var.i+1
notice that there's no space between var.i and the "+" sign and the 1. This is now incorrect and will no longer be parsed as math, but as a literal. To perform the actual mathematical equation you need to uses spaces like this:
var:i=var.i + 1
Please update any loops you may be using math in, or any scripts where you use math to add to counters. The same goes for subtraction, division and multiplication.

In other news, we now support 2d datasets, (tables) which can do all kinds of marvelous things like exporting a table you see on a website to CSV, or a series of that table, as well as having other great functions. For more on tables see the scripting reference here :rs:table: . We also have included the SimuMacros system, the first draft of this where windows are now controllable. Other little changes have been made like:

you can now save and load account sets as other files instead of default.

you can now use a simple regex pattern to return a match from the current web page to a variable. See :r:3398:

The nextproxy command :r:nextproxy: and the lastproxy command :r:lastproxy: allow you to change proxies in your list in order.

On the road to webDOM 3.0 there are many other updates that are waiting to happen including a new captcha outsourcing system, controlling other windows and file uploads, an update to the lists system with new functionality and no limitations.

Happy DOMinating, be unstoppable!

webDOM 3.0 on the Horizon

The rumor's out. webDOMinator 3.0 is coming, and with it, webDOM Enterprise Server.

Important Myspace Plugin Update

Myspace plugin updated, latest build required. If you have automatic updates turned on, you should have gotten this update already and are using build 16 of version 2.5.2. If not, you can download it manually at http://webdombot.com/webDOM.exe.

We've recently fixed the myspace plugin to work for friend adding again. Myspace changed their add friend format last week to a pop-up window for adding each person. Last week we updated webDOM and the myspace plugin to work with the changes. To use the new updated version of the myspace plugin, you have to have the latest build.

If friend adding is not working for you, please contact us.

Happy DOMinating!

Facebook's War against Automation...

I'm writing this to let all of you know that facebook has recently declared war on automated systems. They are trying to pass into law, a general restriction on automated software using their site. I'm sure you've all seen facebook show up in the news more recently due to their other issues with Privacy. The privacy issues is small compared to this anti-automation war facebook seems to have started.

This is facebook stepping out of bounds and trying to hit the little guys (you and me) where it hurts.

They want to force people to use their own advertising system to try to boost their turnout on that. In doing so, they are trying to pass terms of service breaches into the world of "criminal activity". Sadly, they have missed the fact that automation is what built the internet. It's what built facebook itself. There is a full report and record of this at the Electronic Freedom Foundation's website. It is extremely important that facebook does not pass this into law using their political power because it will mean a new movement in the Social Network realm where EVERY site wants to now make TOS violation criminally prosecutable. This is ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL in the United States of America.

Together we can find was to help the anti-facebook movement and buck them off of their legal/moral high horse. You can help by supporting the EFF so that they win this case and save what little freedoms we have left on the internet. You can also help by telling everyone you know about this travesty of law Facebook is trying to commit.

Happy DOMinating, and power to the independent online marketer!

Newest Instal of webDOM 2.5.2 Build 13 - Get it now

Hello webDOMers :)

We've been working hard on finishing the newest features which allow plugin Developers to make custom options pages for webDOM using HTML and the special "wdonclick" attribute. Using the options pages, it's possible to create a customized interface that showcases the features of the plugin, or allows users to select options for specific scripts. If you already know HTML then it's very easy to do.

Besides that, this new version features many fixes, and a final fixed version of wdUpdater.exe and the automatic updates system.

For the update, you must re-install webDOM - this is a simple process, just download and run the installer and all the base webDOM files will be updated.

Stay tuned for new plugin updates, we are working on the Myspace fix as well as putting this new options page system to the test by building some custom option pages for some of the top and most recently added plugins.

More About The New Interface...

Okay, you've probably noticed that webDOM has asked you to update and that when you updated, you saw the new interface. We've put together a quick video tutorial you probably have watched above which explains some of the changes.

Besides the changes mentioned in the video, you might find that webDOM now runs even smoother. There was also a previous problem where webDOM was not running correctly in Thailand and possibly other southeast asian countries. This issue has been resolved, and now allows anyone from that area of the world to properly register a license to their computer, etc. Thanks a lot to QQ for helping us with that fix :)

The New Interface also includes

Auto-Scripting! Finally there is a tool that has bridged the gap between advanced webDOM gurus and complete noobs. watch the basic auto-scripting video tutorial

A working Plugin Export capability when you click on "Upload" in your plugin menu. The export function makes sure all your private data is taken out of the plugin settings when making the zip file that it exports.

New "virtual" list systems which allow you to create lists in minion code and do not have a 32k list limit. See the Scripting Reference: List Command. Be sure to head to the Scripting Reference: Recent Commands page to see the newest additions to Minion scripting.

All in all, quite a great update, and we hope to hear from you all on what you think about the new interface.

Happy DOMinating!
The webDOMbot.com Team

Churning out the Features

Okay, it's been awhile since there was an update on this page. We've been working on some new features that are going to start the transaction to webDOM 3.0! The idea here is to slowly change the interface and parts of the interface to clean it all up and make it easier on the eye. Along with that, there are some more features that are even currently available in the current public beta version. These features include:

A new way to deal with working on multiple lists at the same time, and gathering different data to different lists simultaneously

A new script editor. Say goodbye to the quick action script section and say hello to one really nice tab based script editor built into webDOM. This is the beginning of better IDE support.

And ofcourse, other secret plans and new features we're not going to share here until we're ready to share it with you :)

Besides that, we have still been working on the webDOM community, bug fixes, talking to wonderful clients like yourself, and making new site plugins and plugin updates.

Stay tuned and keep DOMinating :) We've got some goodies in store for you.

We're working on finishing the parts of the webDOM social network which are going to allow the most interaction between webDOM users and start to tie all the pieces together. Finishing up the points system as well.

On the software side of things, we've added a couple new commands to the newest upcoming release that will allow you to work with lists in a whole new way.
webDOM Community Update

Alright everyone, the community features are still under construction, but you can set up your profiles and start submitting scripts, notes, comments, etc. now to the different areas where the submit buttons are available, like in the scripting reference you can comment, etc. This will give you points when your submissions are excepted so you can start building up your points right now. The game instructions are also still being written, but you can check them out and give suggestions to us if you want to be a part of making up the game. It's targeted toward helping out new people to the software, and building up a large amount of user based knowledge about the program. Also a place you can go to get help.

The overall idea with the webDOM game is that you can gain points for contributing to the community, and exchange them for prizes. You also have a reputation within the community that allows you access to certain privileges like point increases, being featured on the home page, etc.

Your profiles are now open for editing, and when you create them, upload a photo, and set up your static profile address if you want. The community will be continuing growth as the year progresses so stay tuned. You can already subscribe to other people's submissions and vote on other users to up their reputation.

The community is going to be peer governed, so everyone works together to keep the community clean and churning out good scripts. As the community grows, there will be new ways for you to gain points and new prizes that you can win with your webDOM points. There will eventually be contests, awards, challenges, etc. that you will be able to complete that will help you out quite a bit in evening out the learning curve webDOM has a bit.

Edit your webDOM community profile

BlackPlanet Plugin Now Available

First thing's first, I'm putting in a retraction from the previous post. PeopleString will not be adding a friend limit... I repeat, PeopleString does NOT have a friend cap. Apparently this was a rumor and it was confirmed.

There is also now the BlackPlanet Plugin which can be downloaded using the Plugin manager

In other news, a new program update adds the "googlesearch" command, and an important scheduling fix. Besides that, some changes to the "softwait" command have also been made which fix when you are using it multiple times in a script. You should already have gotten this update automatically if you have automatic updates on.
